The Day at the Races CLE will be held at the Oaklawn Race Track in Hot Springs.
Park in the North Lot at Oaklawn for $2.00. The seminar will be in the Arkansas Room.
Event Anti-Harassment and Discrimination and Safety Policy:
ATLA is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and ATLA staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors, ATLA staff, and service providers, are expected to comply with this Policy. It applies to all ATLA events, including those sponsored by companies and firms held in conjunction with ATLA events, in public or private facilities.
ATLA does not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment. In response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, ATLA reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without refund and the right to prohibit attendance at any future event.
Examples of Unacceptable Behavior:
• Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.
• Physical or verbal abuse.
• Verbal comments related to gender, age, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, race, religion, or national origin.
• Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations.
• Harassing, threatening or stalking.
• Unwanted touching, unwanted remarks of a sexual nature, unwelcome comments about someone’s body or personal appearance, and unwelcome attention.
If you experience harassment or notice that someone else is being harassed, contact either Brian Brooks, General Counsel, at bgbrooks1@me.com or Amanda Boulden, Chief Operating Officer, at aboulden@arktla.org or so that ATLA can investigate and take appropriate action.
Responsible Drinking:
At ATLA events, including receptions, where both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are served, participants and staff who choose to drink alcoholic beverages are expected to drink responsibly. ATLA and convention, hotel or venue event staff have the right to deny service to attendees for any reason and may require an attendee to leave the event
Personal Safety and Security:
ATLA is committed to providing a safe and secure environment at its meetings and events by working with venue staff to make sure meeting participants are safe. We ask that all attendees report any questionable or concerning activity to ATLA or convention, hotel or venue event staff.
• Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Do not wear earbuds.
• Use the buddy system when walking to and from event venues, including networking event locations during early or late hours.
• Don’t wear your meeting badge on the street. Take it off as soon as you leave the building/venue.
• Don’t carry a lot of cash or credit cards. Leave in your hotel room safe.
• Don’t leave personal property unattended anywhere, anytime.
Admittance Policy:
Seminar closed to in-house or full-time insurance defense counsel. Refunds of CLE registration fees will not be granted to those who violate this policy and are asked to leave a program unless violator can provide proof to the association that he/she is not in-house or full-time counsel for an insurance company.
Cancellation Policy:
Refunds minus $50 processing fee will be made only if ATLA is notified before 5:00pm, March 25, 2020. Those canceling without advance notice will not receive a refund. Substitution of eligible registrants is permitted.
CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT:
As an attendee at this Event, I understand that I may have access to confidential, privileged, or proprietary information, including information concerning ATLA’s legislative and/or regulatory advocacy. I agree not to disclose or disseminate such information without the written permission of ATLA, except to persons I know to be plaintiff attorney members of ATLA or members of an affiliated trial lawyer organization. Additionally, I agree that I will not record, by audio, visual, or other means, any portion of any meeting or event without the permission of ATLA.
I further understand that if I knowingly and purposely violate this Agreement, my membership status in the Association will be reviewed and may be revoked; and I may be subjected to disciplinary charges, including, but not limited to, charges brought before state licensing boards. Upon request, I will provide my state bar identification number(s); and, if a Law Student Member, I will, upon request, identify the name of my law school or, if a Paralegal Affiliate Member, will, upon request, identify the name of my ATLA sponsoring attorney.
The Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, refuse entrance to the event and/or remove any individual from the event whose behavior is disruptive and/or is not consistent with the character and purpose of the show. All ATLA badges are the property of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association and must be returned to the Association upon request.
Finally, by agreeing to the terms of this Agreement, I am certifying that if I am registering as an ATLA Regular Member, I am licensed to practice law, I am actively engaged in the practice of law and that, for the most part, based on caseload and time, I represent the plaintiff in civil litigation or represent the defendant in criminal litigation.
